Synopsis of Annie Jr.
Set in New York City during the Great Depression, Annie Jr. tells the inspiring story of a spunky red-headed orphan who never gives up hope. Living in the hard-knock world of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage, Annie dreams of finding her parents who left her there years ago with only half of a silver locket and a promise to return.
When billionaire Oliver Warbucks decides to invite an orphan to spend Christmas at his mansion, Annie’s optimism and charm win everyone’s hearts—including Warbucks himself. Determined to help her, Warbucks offers a reward to find Annie’s parents. Unfortunately, Miss Hannigan, her scheming brother Rooster, and his girlfriend Lily hatch a plan to claim the money by pretending to be Annie’s long-lost parents.
In the end, their plot is uncovered, and Annie finally finds the family she’s always longed for—not the one she expected, but one full of love and belonging with Daddy Warbucks and Grace Farrell by her side.
Filled with unforgettable songs like “Tomorrow,” “Maybe,” and “It’s the Hard-Knock Life,” Annie Jr. celebrates hope, family, and the power of optimism even in the toughest times.
