Kerry Rupe

Director

Raised in Orange County and a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, with a B.A. in Television and Film and an M.A. in Education, Kerry is in her 21st year of teaching and her 13th year as Director of the Chino Hills High School Theatre Program. Kerry is married to Jason and they have two daughters, both graduates of CHHS; Lily is a junior majoring in Theatre and Madeleine is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton! Kerry has performed in over 30 musicals and has directed and choreographed over 35 plays and musicals counting Hairspray as one of her favorites.  Some other favorites over the years include Rock of Ages, The Addams Family, Spongebob the Musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Little Shop of Horrors.  Thank you to her vocal director and her choreographer and all the designers who work so hard to help her vision come to life. Laura Rutherford

Musical Director

is excited to be in her 21st year as our choir teacher at Chino Hills High School. Her passion for music has lead her to the classroom, after years of study as a classical pianist and accompanist, member of choral ensembles in the community and church, and singer, dancer, and actress in many community theater productions.  

This production of Hairspray is the 37th show she has musically directed, and Mrs. R secretly wishes she could be singing and dancing as a Nicest Kid herself!  Mrs. R would like to give special thanks to her husband Jim, for his love and support, and hearing her constantly sing the music from this show. To her son Clayton, thank you for hanging out with me at rehearsals, you're the best! To the cast and crew -- thank you for all of your hard work to make this such a fun show!
