This year has been a transformative one for CKP. Doors opened, doors closed. Somehow it feels perfectly fitting for a company that spent this season bringing the Monsters, Inc. pilot to life.
We opened 2024 without a home of our own, bouncing from studio to studio, squeezing into any corner of space that was available for us to rent us. And through all of it, this community of actors, parents and teaching artists stayed with us.
Fortunately for us, things began to shift. Through the generosity of places like the JC Public Library and County Prep, we found rooms where we could breathe, rehearse, and rebuild. And then came the 14C residency which was a total game changer. That residency didn’t just give us space; it gave us momentum. It allowed us to finally spread out, feel like we had a home, deepen our work, and imagine CKP on a larger scale.
And here’s the thing: even though the residency has officially ended, we’re not going backward. We are working to establish a permanent residency at 14C for the year. It’s a big step, one that comes with new challenges and new opportunities for growth. But we are CKP…and we are all about overcoming challenges.
I want to thank each and every one of you for riding with us through every uncertain moment, every borrowed room, every leap of faith. We hope you’ll stay with us for what comes next because the journey is only getting bigger.
