 End Notes

Where do I begin to speak about this show? This has been one of the most special experiences of the theatrical career. I was told many times that this was an impossible feat, and I have faced many challenges in this journey that almost allowed that statement to happen. But in the end, we did it. WE is the most important word with this show. I could not have done this without my amazing other directors, Arian, Sydnee, Tenny, Christopher, or Kyaela. They took a huge amount of work off of my shoulders in this process, and without them, I would've been lost and burnt-out. I need to thank the tech crew for their hours spent working on the set and then being able to change things on a whim, you guys rock. I need to thank my cast, because this is truly their show. From the beginning, they’ve been there through every barrier placed in our way. From working since January to get off-book for the first rehearsal like was asked of them, to re-casting people into different roles in 30 minutes before we started blocking when we lost some cast members, to working together to make this show happen. This is the only group I know who could’ve done this, and I will forever be grateful to them. I also need to thank my family, especially for making me dinner pretty late these last couple weeks. Finally, I need to thank Mr. David Walsh. This year, I was very lucky to work closely with him, and in this process he has shown me how to do what he does, and I have learned many lessons I hope to take into a career of teaching theater. Without his unwavering support in his students, and myself, I would never have had this opportunity, much less actually survived the process. He is a champion of students leading the charge, and if this isn't a phenomenal example of that, I don’t know what is. When you see him sometime tonight, stop and thank him for everything he does for our department. Enjoy the show everyone!

Your director,

Jayke Merritt

Putting together a musical production is no small task. Taking one from start to finish in just two weeks is a totally different beast.

We’ve had some bumps along the way, but the cast and crew haven’t let that stop them one bit. It’s been so much fun working alongside people I’ve performed with on this very stage.

To the cast and crew: you are the reason we have a show to begin with. You signed up for this knowing it wouldn’t be easy, and I’m so proud of you all.

Jayke, it has been an honor to work alongside you on this crazy journey. I can’t wait to see where you go next. Molly and Sydnee, your dedication to teaching choreography and vocals to this group has not gone unnoticed. I am so grateful for your time and commitment.

Bringing this production to life has been an incredible journey, and it wouldn't have been possible without the support of so many wonderful people.

To my incredible wife—your love, patience, and encouragement mean the world to me. Thank you for always being my biggest supporter and the one who stops me from doing stupid things.

To our families and friends—thank you for your endless encouragement, patience, and applause. Your belief in this program and me makes all the hard work worthwhile.

To our school administration, teachers, and staff—your support allows us to explore our creativity and share our passion for the arts.

To the custodial team—your behind-the-scenes efforts do not go unnoticed by all of us here.

And finally, to our fantastic cast, crew, and directors—thank you for your dedication, talent, and teamwork. This show is a testament to all of you!  You are all just a bunch of crazy wack-a-doodles.

Mr. David Walsh

Jack of all trades, educational theater director, wack-a-dooodle wrangler and coffee cup loser.
